From its inaugural edition in 2007 to the 10th edition in 2025, the International Symposium on Electroacoustic Technologies (ISEAT) has continuously evolved with the times, expanding its scope and strengthening its role in advancing the field of sound and audio technologies. Experts, scholars, technology decision-makers, and senior engineers from around the world have gathered at ISEAT to experience the latest innovations in sound technology and explore cutting-edge developments in electroacoustics. By bringing together global expertise and encouraging interdisciplinary exchange, ISEAT inspires new ideas, fuels innovation, and promotes collaboration between academia and industry.


ISEAT is known for its strong international atmosphere, where participants from different countries and cultural backgrounds share insights and perspectives, broaden global vision, and foster international cooperation and successful research initiatives. The 11th ISEAT will be held in Shenzhen on September 12–13, 2026, under the theme - Immersive Audio: Technology + Art. Renowned experts and scholars from both academia and industry around the world will deliver forward-looking keynote speeches and technical presentations, offering in-depth insights into technological evolution and future development trends in immersive audio and sound technologies. The introduction of the first batch of speakers is now officially released, with more exciting announcements to come. Stay tuned for updates on the 11th ISEAT.

1. Cesar Lamschtein.jpg

Cesar Lamschtein

President-Elect of AES

Chief of audio/video at Auditorio nacional del SODRE (Former)


Cesar Lamschtein graduated from the Vocal Studies program (BTS) at LISA Angoulême in France and previously served as Head of Audio and Video at the SODRE National Auditorium. He also worked at ORT University Uruguay, where he accumulated more than 28 years of experience in audio education and received the Teaching Excellence Award in 2010. 

Cesar played a key role in establishing Uruguay’s first world-class recording studio and later became head of the audio and video department at the National Auditorium. His subsequent professional projects have focused on recording studio system integration consulting, live venue design, public address system installations, music production, and sound reinforcement projects, including work with the Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra, where he served as the principal sound engineer. 

He joined the Audio Engineering Society (AES) in 1996 and was one of the founding members of the AES Uruguay Section. He has served as Vice President for the AES Latin American Region, a member of the AES Board of Directors, and held multiple positions within the AES Uruguay Committee.

Masataka Nakahara

Masataka Nakahara is an acoustician specializing in acoustic design of mixing studios, R&D work on room acoustics, and an educator. After studying acoustics at the Kyushu Institute of Design, he joined SONA Corporation in 1995. Masataka has designed many studios in his 30 years of experience, and has developed a reputation especially for designing multichannel / immersive audio facilities. Some of these have been presented at AES Conventions. 

In 2005, he received his Ph.D. from Kyushu University, and started R&D work at ONFUTURE Ltd. His recent research interests include a virtual recording technique that enables a large microphone array to be built virtually in a real hall. They have been presented at several AES Conventions and Conferences over the past decade. He has been teaching acoustics and immersive audio technology at universities and colleges for two decades.

 

3. Gérald Estadieu.jpg

Gérald Estadieu 

Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) - Macao

 

With a Master's Degree in Signal and Image Processing from the Université d' Orléans (France) and a PhD in Science and Technology of the Arts from the Catholic University of Portugal (School of Arts, Porto), his research and artistic activities focus on the fields of Soundscape, Spatial Audio and Ambisonics, as well as Interactivity and Digital Fabrication. He created the Fab Lab at the University of Saint Joseph and co-founded the first fablab in Macau. 

He is also a member of several international collaborative experiments, including Museomix and HackMyChurch. He has developed artistic projects in local and international exhibitions, integrating soundscapes, interactive technology and digital fabrication. His work has been exhibited in Macau, Vietnam, Thailand, Portugal and South Korea. He is currently leading a research project in collaboration with the University of Arts of Linz (Austria) on an innovative Spatial Audio system.


6. Niels-Adelman-Larsen.jpg

Niels Werner Adelman-Larsen

Managing Director of Flex Acoustics

 

Niels Werner Adelman-Larsen holds an M.Sc. in acoustic engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, as well as a Ph.D. in acoustics from Aalborg University. Before pursuing his professional career as a musician, he studied music and sound engineering at Berklee College of Music on a scholarship, and took a B.Sc. completed with a thesis on room-acoustics for sound studios.

So far, he has played more than 1,200 jazz, pop and rock concerts around the world. Throughout those concerts, Niels learned that most halls are, in fact, unsuitable for amplified music such as pop and rock. This hands-on experience led him in 2004 to initiate the first profound scientific research projects within acoustics for amplified music venues ever conducted. A field he has since almost solely developed.

Niels'  investigations led to peer-reviewed research articles, as well as the only scientific book about acoustics suitable for amplified music (Springer Verlag) and to the ISO:23591 standard. His research and ideas are widely applied by acousticians around the world on a daily basis.

AES Fellowship

Technical Leadership of Harman


Alexander Voishvillo was born and grew up in Saint Petersburg, Russia where he graduated from the State University of Telecommunications. He worked at Popov Institute for Radio and Acoustics. His PhD thesis was on iterative computer optimization of loudspeaker crossovers. He is an author of numerous publications on transducers and loudspeaker systems including an engineering book on loudspeakers published in Russia. Alexander holds US and international patents; he has authored publications in JAES, presented papers at AES, ASA, and ALMA meetings, conferences, and symposia. 

He participates in the AES Standard Committee's working group on loudspeaker modeling and measurement, and in the AES Technical Committee on transducers and headphones. He is a reviewer of publications for AES conventions and a frequent chairman of transducer sessions at the AES conventions. In 2008 Alexander was awarded AES Fellowship for his advanced work in horn drivers and assessment of nonlinearity in audio equipment. He is a 2012 ALMA Titanium Driver Award recipient and a recipient of 2019 Harman Awards for technical leadership, inventions, and patents. Currently he has a technical leadership position at Harman, researching and developing transducers for the JBL Professional division in Northridge, California, USA.

Alfred J. Svobodnik

Alfred J. Svobodnik is Founder and CEO of Mvoid Audio Technologies, specializing in consulting services, innovative technologies, and integration of audio simulation solutions for automotive, consumer and professional audio. He developed the simulation-driven Mvoid (Multidisciplinary Virtual Optimized Industrial Design) methodology, which is used for virtual audio prototyping in the industry. Alfred has more than 30 years of research and industrial experience in the field of multiphysics, virtual, and computational acoustics. He is an entrepreneur, thought leader, scientist, and CAE audio expert.

For more than 25 years, he is a member of the NAFEMS Germany Steering Committee and an honorary member of NAFEMS. He is chair of the NAFEMS Multiphysics Working Group, and a founding member of the NAFEMS Professional Simulation Engineering Program. In addition, Alfred serves as member of the Executive Advisory Board of ALTI. He is also a full member of the AES and a past chair of the AES Technical Committee on Automotive Audio.

Stefan Feistel

Stefan Feistel received a Master's degree in physics from Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany in 2004. He received his PhD on computational modeling of sound systems from the department of technical acoustics at the RWTH Aachen University in 2014. In 2000, together with Dr. Wolfgang Ahnert, he founded SDA Software Design Ahnert GmbH, which is dedicated to the development of acoustic modeling and measuring software, such as the simulation software EASE and the measurement tool EASERA. To coordinate the worldwide marketing and distribution activities, the Ahnert Feistel Media Group (AFMG) was established in 2006. Stefan Feistel is a member of AES, the ASA, the DEGA, as well as of several IEC standards working groups.

Dr. Feistel authored or co-authored more than 100 papers and patents focusing on software projects and related mathematical, numerical, and experimental background studies. The JAES article on Methods and Limitations of Line Source Simulation has been distinguished with the AES Publications Award 2010. Stefan Feistel is the author of the book Modeling the Radiation of Modern Sound Systems in High Resolution, and a co-author of several books including Messtechnik der Akustik, edited by M. Möser, Handbook for Sound Engineers, edited by G. Ballou, Sound Reinforcement for Audio Engineers, edited by Wolfgang Ahnert and Dirk Noy, and Architectural Acoustics Handbook, edited by Ning Xiang.

Christian was born in Freiberg, Germany, in 1987. He studied mechatronics in Dresden University of Technology with the focus on control engineering, power electronics and electrical drives. In 2013 he received a Diploma degree for his thesis “Separation of direct sound and room reflections using holographic methods” which was supervised by Dresden Technical University and the Klippel GmbH in Dresden. After his graduation, he joined the Klippel GmbH where he is currently engaged in the research and development of loudspeaker measurement systems with focus on acoustical holography.

Lars Birger Nielsen, Product & Market Manager, Hottinger Brüel & Kjær A/S. Lars Birger Nielsen, born in 1959 in Roskilde in Denmark, started his academic studies of electrical engineering at the Technical University of Denmark in 1979. His professional career began in 1985 when he joined Brüel & Kjær in Nærum. He is mainly involved in electroacoustics, psychoacoustics as well as measurement technology relating to speech transmission quality and hearing simulation. He is active in ITU-T, ETSI, 3GPP, IEEE, and IEC and is chairman of ITU-T SG12 Working Party 1. He is also Rapporteur for the Q5 working group in ITU-T SG12.

His fields of interest and research are in acoustic measurement technology, loudness assessment, auditory tests, speech and audio quality evaluations. After joining Brüel & Kjær his first project was together with a highly dedicated team to develop the Audio Analyzer Type 2012, which later became the industry standard for electroacoustic measurements. More recently he has been engaged in designing the High-frequency HATS Type 5128 together with a team of acoustic experts in Brüel & Kjær. Beside these two flagship products he has been instrumental for the market introduction of various other products, ranging from productions line couplers to advanced analysis software.

Tommaso Nizzoli

CAE Acoustic Analyst Consultant


Tommaso Nizzoli was born in Reggio Emilia, Italy. He holds a degree in Materials Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Engineering. In the early 2000s, he began a career spanning over 15 years in professional audio companies based in his hometown. During this time, he was responsible for the design and development of numerous midrange and woofer loudspeaker projects, overseeing all aspects including FEA simulations, measurements, and pilot production. He also managed the setup of end-of-line testing systems. 

In 2011, he started working independently as a consultant, primarily as an FEA analyst. He collaborated with companies such as LMS (now Siemens), Mvoid, and others, applying his expertise to a wide range of transducer simulation challenges — including MEMS, haptics, piezoelectric devices, automotive cabin acoustics, professional and consumer audio. He has also led technical workshops directly at customer sites. He collaborated on the realization of various AES papers and, in 2019, served as paper chair for the AES International Automotive Audio Conference. Today, he works as a CAE Acoustic Analyst, primarily using COMSOL Multiphysics.


4. Jason McIntosh.jpg

Jason McIntosh

SAATI Acoustics Engineer

 

Jason McIntosh earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics, as well as his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the Minnesota Institute of Technology between 1982 and 1992. His research focused on physical acoustics, particularly the nonlinear acoustic behavior of porous materials and wave propagation, combining numerical modeling with experimental validation.

After graduation, he worked at Digisonix and Telex, where he was involved in active noise control (ANC) research and development, including the development of DSP-based aviation headsets and acoustic simulation software. In 1998, he joined Motorola and spent 12 years there developing acoustic modeling tools for mobile phones, training global engineering teams, and managing the acoustic testing laboratory for Bluetooth headsets.

After leaving Motorola, he founded McIntosh Applied Engineering (MAE), where he developed the audio design tool Ares. Following MAE's acquisition by SAATI, he joined SAATI in 2016, continuing to support the product line and provide acoustic design solutions for customers.

Sébastien Thony

JBL Sr Transducer Engineer


Sébastien Thony was born in Grenoble, France. He graduated as an audio technician from an audio engineering school (formerly EFA) in Nice, France, in 2014. Afterward, he graduated with a master's degree in Electro-Acoustics in 2021, from the IMDEA course in Le Mans, France. In 2021, he completed his Master Thesis as an internship at Harman International, in the automotive division. During this internship, he worked on combining the results of the car cabin simulation. FEA for the low frequencies, and ray tracing for the high frequencies. After combining the results, he performed a binaural listening of the results. In 2022, he started working as a transducer engineer for Harman International, for the brand JBL Professional. He works with Dr. Alexander Voishvillo to design the transducers used in the loudspeakers made by JBL.
